Our Mission
Lingua was built with one simple goal: to make the world language teacher's job easier. Every week, these teachers pour hours into assembling comprehension assignments, administering oral assessments, and grading essays by hand — for every single student. It's relentless, deeply time-consuming work, and the cost is real: teachers burn out, the personalized feedback students need gets sacrificed for time, and students are left struggling to actually acquire the language.
Lingua completely reimagines the language classroom. Teachers can create high-quality reading, listening, writing, and speaking assignments tailored to their own curriculum in just seconds — and every submission is graded automatically against the teacher's own rubrics and grading instructions, with extensive, personalized feedback delivered to each student so they know exactly where to improve. Realistic passages, authentic audio, seminar-style oral assessments — all set up in a few clicks through Lingua's powerful agentic-AI engine, and graded to the teacher's standards without them ever having to lift a finger. Teachers can also share their coursework with the wider Lingua teacher community through LinguaVerse, and connect Lingua to their Canvas gradebooks for automatic grade syncing.
By lifting the burden off teachers without ever compromising the quality of instruction and assessment, Lingua gives teachers back the time to do what they do best — so their students finally become fluent.
